Application review

Our local talent teams will assess your unique skills and experiences against the key competencies and capabilities of the role. They may even reach out to delve deeper into your professional journey. Whatever the outcome, we’ll communicate next steps with you as quickly as we can - as we know you will be waiting to hear from us.

Top tip: In the spirit of whanaungatanga, our review process is inclusive and celebrates people's experiences and differences - so if we call, be bold and be you!

Interviewing

If we find a match between your talents and the role, we'll invite you for an interview. This can be in person or virtual. Here you can expect questions about the role's required skills and competencies. This is your time to express who you are and why you are the best person for the opportunity. Depending on the role and office, this may involve 2-3 rounds with different members of our team, offering further opportunities to learn and connect.

Top tip: Reflecting mātauranga, our interviews are designed not just to assess but to share knowledge and connection, so come prepared with some questions to ask us too.

Assessments

At BDO, we encourage you to shine as your authentic self. During the recruitment process you may be invited to complete some online assessments.

These are designed to showcase your problem-solving skills and adaptability, and help us ensure team fit for all.

Top tip: Embrace rangatiratanga BDO’s commitment to authenticity, honesty, and respect. These assessments are designed to set you up for future success, should you be successful in our recruitment process.

From offer to commencement

If you are successful during the recruitment process, we’ll call you to talk through a formal job offer!

Our offers are subject to reference and background checks. During this call we ‘ll talk you through these steps and answer any questions you might have.

This stage celebrates whanaungatanga. Together we will agree a start date that suits and explain more about our onboarding process - when we officially welcome you to our BDO whanau.
